Clarence Ronald "Ronnie" Sampson

Clarence Ronald "Ronnie" Sampson

September 16, 1946 March 10, 2026

Charlotte Hall, MD

Clarence Ronald “Ronnie” Sampson passed away on March 10, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kami Sampson; his sons, Jeffery Holcomb and his wife Elizabeth, Christopher Sampson and his wife Mindy Sampson; and his daughter, Ashley Holston and her husband Robbie Holston. Ronnie cherished his grandchildren—Jordan, Jackie, Caden, Ryan, Chance, Payton, Rocky, and Maddie—above all else, often saying they were his greatest legacy.

A Vietnam Veteran, Ronnie served aboard the USS Richard B. Anderson and concluded his Navy career with the Crash Crew in Adak, Alaska. He later became a proud member of Local 669 Sprinkler Fitters’ Union, retiring at age 55 while maintaining his membership for the rest of his life. He was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, where he held multiple leadership positions, served two terms as Commander of the Falls Church, Virginia chapter, and participated in the color guard.

Ronnie possessed a larger-than-life personality and remained a steadfast friend to those he cared about. He loved fishing, hunting, boating, and camping, and took immense pride in his family. He is also survived by his sister Linda and her husband Gareth Weldon, his brother Terry and his wife Kathy Sampson, as well as his special friends and the extended Anderson families. Those who knew him will hold dear the many memories he left behind.
