Mrs. Clarence Mae Elizabeth “Liz” Matthews Williford

New Holland, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Clarence Mae Elizabeth “Liz” Matthews Williford age 83 will be held 2:00 pm Thursday March 19, 2026 at Rocky Springs Baptist Church, 1000 New Holland Road, Aiken, SC 29805 with Pastor Ross Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the New Holland Cemetery, New Holland. Mrs. Williford was born in New Holland and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. She was the beloved wife of the late Mr. Jones Ray Williford and a daughter of the late Mr. Laverne Matthews and the late Mrs. Bessie Cook Matthews Gay. Mrs. Williford was employed at Owens Corning Fiberglass Aiken Plant as a Beamer Operator with 15 years of service retiring in 1998. She was an active member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church and her hobbies included Gardening, Crafting, Sewing and Traveling. Her Grand children were her pride and joy. Survivors are one son, Mike “Ashley” Williford, New Holland; one daughter, Dana Stalnaker, Pelion; two brothers, Charles (Cheryl) Matthews, Aiken, Jimmy (Darnell) Gay, Vaucluse; two sisters, Carolyn Enlow, New Holland, Cindy (Carl) Cole, Aiken; four grandchildren, Austin (Carson) Taylor, Alissa Stalnaker, Brooke Stalnaker, Rylee Williford; two great grandchildren, Carli and Millie Taylor. She was predeceased by one sister, Mozelle Matthews Sturkie, one nephew, Todd Enlow, two brothers-in-law, Allen Sturkie and James “Jr.” Enlow. Serving as pallbearers are nephews, Mark Sturkie, Derrick Sturkie, Clifford Enlow, Ricky Enlow, Chris Sturkie, Clint Matthews, Chad Matthews, and Shane Cole. Honorary Pallbearers are Josh Enlow, Justin Enlow, and JoJo Enlow. In lieu of flowers the family has ask that donations be made to Rocky Springs Baptist Church, 1000 New Holland Road, Aiken, SC, 29805. A visitation with the family will take place 6-8 pm Wednesday March 18, 2026 at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PARKWAY AIKEN, SC, 29801.
