Clarence J. "Bud" Swartz, Jr., 86, of York, passed away at 1:31 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Cynthia A. "Cindy" (Leathery) Swartz, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.

Born on June 16, 1939, in Dover, Bud was the son of the late Clarence J. Swartz, Sr. and Ruth (Luckenbaugh) Swartz and step-son of the late Catherine (Sheets) Swartz. A U.S. Army veteran, he was the owner of Silver Dollar in North York and Spanky’s Tavern in York. For 40 years, he also operated Tubby Tommy’s Baked Potato Stand at the York Fair. Bud was a life member of the West York VFW Post 8951, the Rooster Social Club, and the Viking Athletic Association. He found great joy in camping and boating.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy; daughters Beverly J. Mathison and husband Todd, and Vickie L. Hoskin and husband Brian, all of Dover; grandchildren Jennifer Crone, Ashlee (Jimmy) Henney, and Andrew (Renny) Hoskin; and five great-grandchildren, Shane, Emily, Taivon, Reyden, and Ajani. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter April Crone, his brother Frank E. Swartz and wife Bev, and his parents.
