Clarence Hedrick

Maryville, TN

Clarence A. Hedrick, age 101, of Maryville and formerly of Lenoir City, passed away on March 13, 2026. Born on July 29, 1924, to Jessie Carl Hedrick and Mary Lee Thompson Hedrick, he was the firstborn of six children. A longtime member of Broadway Baptist Church in Maryville, Clarence served his country as an Army veteran of World War II, seeing duty in New Guinea, the Philippines, and Japan.

Following his military service, Clarence returned to East Tennessee and began a distinguished 47-year career at ALCOA, retiring in 1999. He worked in the Remelter, as a pipe fitter, and in the mechanical department. Known for his great sense of humor, he found joy in gardening and generously sharing his produce with friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lyda Delores Williams Hedrick, in 1985; his parents, Jessie Carl Hedrick and Mary Lee Thompson Hedrick; his sister, Neoma Simpson; and his brother, Jessie Carl “JC” Hedrick Jr., who also served in World War II.
