Clarence Ellis ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery - Nashville on Mar. 9, 2026.We remember Clarence Edgar Ellis "Buddy", a man who never met a stranger and never forgot a face. His passing came unexpectedly in White House, TN, and it has left us reaching for the warmth of his easy conversations and bright stories.Buddy entered the world in Nashville, TN, on July 5th, 1942. From the start, he carried a friendly spirit that made every room feel lighter. He found his greatest joy traveling with his wife, Hope, whether they were headed to the Florida coast or the mountains and deserts of Nevada. Their shared adventures filled years with laughter and new stories he loved to retell.Faith anchored Buddy's weeks. As members of White House Church of Christ, he and Hope rarely missed a service, and after her passing in 2023 the church family became his steady support.Music was his constant companion. From Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole to gospel and Motown, Buddy could set any moment to the perfect soundtrack.Animals found a soft place to land with him. Cats and dogs alike sensed the kindness that shaped his days.Holidays meant large family gatherings, and Buddy's gift for remembering the little things made everyone feel seen. His knack for slipping a thoughtful detail into conversation showed how closely he listened. We hold on to his one-sentence legacy: "Outgoing and friendly, he could remember the smallest details to make people feel special." Buddy, your stories and songs stay with us, and our hearts travel with you now. Those who have passed before him are his parents Buford and Trudy Ellis, wife, Hope Ellis, son Brian Timothy Ellis, and sisters, Jerdean Croft and Kathy Bogle. Those left behind to cherish his memory are sister, Gladys Ann Al-Chokhachi, a multitude of loving nieces and nephews, his church family at White House church of Christ, and dear friend and neighbor, Stanley Jones.Arrangements entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37216, 615-865-1101, https://www.springhillfh.comTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
