Claire M. (Theriault) Maillet, 93, of Danvers, passed away on Saturday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was the devoted wife of the late Clarence J. Maillet, who predeceased her in 1991.
Born in Salem on November 26, 1932, Claire was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Louise (Dube) Theriault. Raised and educated in Salem, she graduated from Salem High School. A longtime resident of Danvers, she worked for many years at Hotwatt in Danvers Square, where she served as a steady and supportive presence for younger employees, continuing her employment until retiring at the age of 85.
A founding parishioner of Saint Richard’s Church, Claire served for many years as a eucharistic minister. She found great joy in knitting and remained close to her family and friends throughout her life.
She is survived by her two children, Neal Maillet and his wife Jacqueline of Camas, Washington, and Michelle Maillet of Danvers; her granddaughter, Brenna Maillet of California; as well as several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her siblings, Hector, Larry, Lorraine, and Roger.
