Claire Devall Hamilton

Claire Hamilton, 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA.

Proudly raised and lived in Ascension Parish her entire life, Claire graduated from East Ascension High School in 1968. Claire had a brief modeling career and later worked in hospitality for most of her adult life with the majority spent working at Drusilla Seafood Restaurant in Baton Rouge.

Claire loved spending time with her family and was blessed to have lifelong friends she stayed close to throughout her life. Some dating back to elementary school. Her family and friends meant very much to her and brought her great happiness.

Claire was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Carpenter Sr. and Claire Berner Carpenter and her brother, Isaac Carpenter Jr.

She is survived by her two sons, David Hamilton (wife, Amanda) and Leavitt Hamilton, her grandchildren, Skylar & Dayton Hamilton, Ryan (fiancé, Monte), Matthew & Lulu Hamilton, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In respect of Claire’s wishes, a memorial service will not be held.

The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the physicians, nurses and staff of Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, Mary Byrd Perkins and all her healthcare team.

Claire will be missed by so many.
