Claire Devall Hamilton

Claire Devall Hamilton, born July 13, 1950, in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was 75 years old. A lifelong resident of the area, Claire graduated from East Ascension High School in 1968. She enjoyed a brief modeling career before spending most of her adult life in hospitality, where she worked for many years at Drusilla Seafood Restaurant in Baton Rouge.

Claire cherished her family above all and found deep joy in the lifelong friendships she maintained, some of which dated back to her elementary school days. Her warmth and steadfast presence brought happiness to those closest to her throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Carpenter Sr. and Claire Berner Carpenter, and her brothers, David Carpenter and Isaac Carpenter Jr. Claire is survived by her two sons, David Hamilton (wife, Amanda) and Leavitt Hamilton; her grandchildren, Skylar and Dayton Hamilton, Ryan (fiancé, Monte), Matthew, and Lulu Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
