Troy, OH
Cindy L. Jones, of Troy and formerly of West Milton, passed away on February 13, 2026 at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County. Born on December 21, 1952 in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Ward Jr. and Mary Lee (Minnery) Little. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Steve Jones, in 2018.
Cindy graduated from Milton-Union High School in 1971. She earned a master’s degree in early childhood development from the University of Dayton and taught at Riverside Schools in Troy, where her daughter Sarah still works today. She approached everything in life with enthusiasm and creativity. An avid gardener, she had a special passion for hostas and was a member of the National Hosta Society. She developed, sustained, and registered her own hosta variety named Appliqué. Cindy was also an accomplished quilter and active member of the Quilting Guild, filling her home with beautiful quilts she made for family and friends. She volunteered with the Miami County Humane Society and 4 Paws for Ability, helping children and veterans with disabilities. She cherished time spent playing cards with loved ones and had a deep appreciation for antiques.
She is survived by her children, Sarah Jones of Troy and Luke (Kelly) Jones of West Milton; grandchildren Alyssa and Aubrey Jones of West Milton; and her brother, Dan Little of South Carolina. Cindy lived a long, full, and happy life surrounded by her husband and family, touching more lives than she ever realized. She will be deeply loved and missed by all who knew her.
