Orange, TX
Cindy K. Young, 69, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 13, 2026, in Orange after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Enid, Oklahoma, on September 26, 1956, she was the daughter of Monte Rogers and Saundra Howard Rogers. Cindy grew up in Lawton, Oklahoma, where the foundation for her life of deep relationships and purposeful work was laid. In 2011, she made her home in Orange, Texas, where she continued to build lasting connections within her community.
For decades, Cindy dedicated herself to a distinguished career at AT&T. She began as a call center representative and retired as a respected Telecom Technician. She was also deeply committed to the AT&T Union CWA Local 6009, serving as Union Executive Vice President and advocating tirelessly for her fellow workers. Beyond her professional life, she found great joy in her family and friends. Known affectionately as “Grandma” to her grandchildren, she embraced that role with boundless love. An avid traveler, she eagerly explored new places and cultures, while at home she expressed her creativity through arts and crafts in her cherished “she shed.”
Cindy will be remembered for her kindness, loyalty, and the genuine warmth she extended to everyone around her. She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Rodney Young; her son, Brian Johnson; her grandchildren, Derek, Dylan, Dax, Shelby, Christian, and Brianna; her sisters, Debi Gilbert and Ginger Woods; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Monte Rogers, and her brother, John Rogers.
