She was preceded in death by her husband Wai Tong Hong February 15,,2024. She is survived by her daughters Liwanna Hong and Lianna Hong and her granddaughter Michelle Wing Man Lee.She married Wai Tong Hong in 1947. In 1950 she gave birth to their first daughter, Liwanna. She had to care for the family alone after Wai Tong Hong emigrated to the United States on July 4, 1951. She was able to leave China and moved to Hong Kong in 1956. In Hong Kong she gave birth to her second daughter, Lianna in 1962. While in Hong Kong she watched over and cared for her daughters supported from funds sent over from her husband in the United States.In 1973, Chun Hang and her daughters were able to emigrate to the United States and reunite with her husband, Wai Tong Hong. In their home in Salt Lake City, Utah, they enjoyed working in their backyard garden. They grew a variety of fruits and vegetables. Their garden produced generous amounts of Chinese winter melons, Chinese squash, Chinese vegetables and greens. They grew fruit from their cherry, Asian pear, and red date (jujube berries) trees and grapes from their vines. They enjoyed sharing their produce with their relatives, friends and neighbors..Chun Hang not only developed skills in gardening but also in working with ceramics and pottery. Along with friends she learned the art of making ceramics and pottery in her early years in America..However, Chun Hang's greatest talent was to cook and prepare many traditional Chinese dishes and foods for her family and friends. She could make a wide variety of stir-fried meat and vegetable dishes. She was expert in making barbecued, baked and steamed meat and protein dishes. She was skilled in preparing Chinese pastries, dumplings, dim sum, steamed buns and cakes. She made all these dishes from scratch ingredients. She memorized all the recipes and cooking processes and never needed to look at a written recipe..She enjoyed strolling with her family at parks, shopping malls, department stores and community events.. She loved her granddaughter and would spoil her whenever they went out.. She would beam with a broad smile when she encountered children walking around or at play. She would even try to converse with the children, oftentimes with embarrassing results..In the final three years of her life, her health deteriorated due to old age and the effects of Alzheimer dementia. She was moved to the St. Joseph's Villa Long Term Care and Nursing Center. Chun Hang passed away on March 4, 2026.The family wishes to thank the kind and patient care that the workers at St. Joseph's Villa provided. Chun Hang Lau Hong memorial service will be held at Larkin Mortuary located at 260 E. South Temple in downtown Salt Lake City on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Viewing will be from 10:30 am-11:00 am. Memorial services will be from 11:00 am - 12 noon. Burial will follow at the Chinese area in the northwest section of the Salt Lake City Cemetery located at 200 'N' Street East in Salt Lake City, Utah.
