Christopher Michael McHale, known to many as Mac, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2026.
Chris grew up in Berlin, where he excelled as an All-State football player and versatile athlete. He carried a lifelong passion for sports, especially the Miami Dolphins, Red Sox, and Celtics, along with a deep enthusiasm for college athletics. His love of sailing began in childhood with his father, while his years in Colorado allowed him to build a career in the ski and snowboard industry. A gifted musician, Chris was an accomplished percussionist who performed as Mac in the duo Mac and Jamie and with the band The Junk Show. Their music earned a loyal following and created many lifelong friendships. Those who knew him will remember his huge heart, boundless curiosity, and the constant questions and conversations that marked his engaging spirit.
He was predeceased by his father, Richard McHale. Chris is survived by his mother, Kathleen (Jarvis) McHale, and his siblings, Debbie Rollman (James), Jimmy McHale (Shari), and Katie Vreeland (Harrison). He adored his nieces and nephews, Emma, Michael (Bianca), Maxwell (Shaina), Samuel, Nicholas, Kristin, and Jimmy (Michelle).
