Glastonbury, CT

Christopher Lord, 51, of Glastonbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, after a long illness. Born in 1974, he grew up in Glastonbury, where he attended Glastonbury High School and formed lifelong friendships that remained important to him throughout his life.

From a young age, Christopher showed drive and initiative, beginning work delivering newspapers before finding early employment in daycare centers in both Connecticut and Virginia. He had a natural affinity for children, though he ultimately discovered his true passion working outdoors in lawn care. Over the years, he built strong relationships with customers across Connecticut through his genuine, likable, and witty personality. When a friend launched Turf Masters, Christopher joined him in building the company from a small three-person operation into a thriving business with many employees and thousands of clients. He played a key role in business development, customer acquisition and retention, and training new employees, generously sharing his knowledge and experience.

He is survived by his children, Autumn and Liam Lord, and his cherished granddaughter, Lorelai. He also leaves behind his mother, Diane Lord; his brothers, Jonathan and Nicholas Lord; his niece, Alana Lord; his nephews, Skylor and Dominic Lord; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a wide circle of close friends. The family is especially grateful for the devoted support of his close friend Edan Varni, who spent many hours with him during his illness, and his godmother, Theresa Tillberg, who remained close throughout his life.

Christopher will be remembered for his intelligence, dry wit, and the quiet, steadfast way he cared for those around him. A fighter with true grit until the end, his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be announced by the family at a later date.
