Christopher “Chris” Della Rocca, age 63, passed away on March 6, 2026. Born on October 10, 1962, in Brooklyn, New York, he grew up in Bay Shore, Long Island, and later made his home in Garnerville, New York, where he built a life rich in love, laughter, and enduring friendships.
Chris graduated from the University of Dayton in 1984 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. An active member of the university band throughout his college years, he held those memories dear and enjoyed returning for reunions to reconnect with friends. He began his career with Greene Mechanical at Battery Park City’s World Financial Center as a proud member of Local 1 Plumbers Union. In 1998 he joined WDF, first as Project Manager and later as an estimator. In 2012 he became Chief Estimator at Forsythe Plumbing, where his intelligence, dedication, and warmth earned the respect and affection of those around him.
Known for his quick wit, loyalty, and generous sense of humor, Chris loved music, exploring new places, and sharing adventures with his girlfriend of more than fifteen years, Barbara Alosco. Together they enjoyed discovering new restaurants and visiting lighthouses. He was predeceased by his parents, Hercules and Theresa Della Rocca, his brother Ernie Della Rocca, and his brother-in-law John Toscano. He is survived by Barbara Alosco, his siblings Jeanine Vitale, Stephen Della Rocca, Peter Della Rocca, Teresa (Steve) Margolis, and Suzanne Toscano, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends—especially his best friend Dina Cardoso—who will always cherish the joy, stories, and laughter he brought into their lives.
