CHRISTOPHER C. MANSFIELD
Dedham, MA
MANSFIELD, Christopher C. Age 76, passed away peacefully, at his home in Dedham, on March 2, 2026, surrounded by his family, from pancreatic cancer. Chris leaves his beloved wife, Laura; daughter, Carolyn (Fergus) Mansfield; and two grandchildren of Chestnut Hill, MA; son, Brendan (Briana) Mansfield of Scituate; brother, Shawn (Victoria) Mansfield of Easthampton, MA. Chris was born in 1950 to Phyllis and Charles Mansfield. He spent his childhood in Easthampton, MA, across the street from the family farm, where he developed a deep respect for hard work and a pragmatic approach to problem solving. He moved to Boston to attend Boston College, where he met the love of his life, Laura, with whom he recently celebrated 53 years of marriage. They made lifelong friends on the BC campus and were proud to support the law and nursing schools in gratitude for their time there. Chris spent his professional career at Liberty Mutual Group, working first as a law clerk, and, after 37 years, retiring as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. He and Laura raised their children in Dedham and together, they contributed to many Dedham charities and community projects, such as coaching youth sports, volunteering at the Dedham Food Pantry, and helping build the Oakdale School Playground. Chris and Laura kept up with numerous friends and family members from their homes in Falmouth, MA, and Naples, FL. Together, they enjoyed beach walks, golf community life, and their decades-long book club. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Pine Street Inn, Boston, MA, where Chris spent many years serving as a director. Visiting Hours will be held from 4-7pm, at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, at 456 High Street, DEDHAM, on Friday, March 13. A Mass for Chris will be celebrated at St. Susanna Parish, at 262 Needham Street, Dedham, at 10am, on Saturday, March 14. Reception to follow. Online guestbook, at gfdoherty.com George F.
