Christine Wyatt ObituaryVisit the Lakeland Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens website to view the full obituary.Christine "Chris" Wyatt, 82, went home to be with the Lord on March 15, 2026.Chris was born on October 24, 1943 in Brunswick, Georgia to Raymond Thomas Sr and Mae Hipps. She was a courageous, sharp-minded, trail-blazing teenager set out to "do hair". She owned and operated her own salon for 35 years. Chris changed gears and shocked us all with the announcement that she's opening a childcare center. She had endless energy and true passion toward this endeavor. In its 30 years, JC's (Jesus Christ) Care Center for Children was amazingly successful in shaping the lives of countless children and their families. After her first husband was fatally injured in a car crash, Chris met her life long love, William Durwood Wyatt, a man that stood by her through thick and thin. Married almost 56 years, they made an incredible team that balanced each other's qualities. Together they raised three girls, Teresa Wyatt Heilman, Thresa Johnson Sazanow and Dana Wyatt Blydenburgh. Unfortunately, they suffered the loss of a newborn daughter, Mary Christine Wyatt. Chris was a special Aunt and mother figure to Terri Richards Nowlin and Tracy Richards Cranford.Chris is survived by her loving husband, 3 daughters, 11 grandchildren (affectionately acknowledged her as Big Mama) and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Eunice Dukes Foster, Alexander Dukes, Raymond Thomas Jr. and Linda Thomas Massey.Chris lived life with more force, dedication and persistence than most can even fathom experiencing in a million lifetimes. Her uniqueness, spiritual depth and unyielding devotion to those she held dear will be carried in the legacy of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was solidly reflected in all her ways. To God be the glory! Her strength and unwavering care will be deeply missed.Visitation will be held at Lakeland Memorial Gardens beginning at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 with a Chapel Service at 2:00 pm followed by a graveside service.Read The Full ObituaryTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
