Kloecker on Mar. 4, 2026.Christine Rose Colvin (Piechocki), lovingly known as Mamma C, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026.Born on June 11, 1935, in Erie, PA, Christine was the daughter of the late Steve and Anna Kozolowski (Grunzel Piechocki).After graduating from East High School in 1954, she worked at Hammermill Paper Company for 43 years, retiring in 1997.Upon retirement, Christine lovingly took care of all her grandchildren and many neighborhood children who considered her their surrogate grandma. She could be seen at any sporting event or activity that her grandchildren were involved in and even had the honor of throwing out the first pitch at her grandson Reece's Prep baseball game.She lived a very full life and was involved in numerous activities, her favorite being a member of the Glenwood YMCA where she met countless friends and participated in the Silver Sneakers program. Mamma C considered the Y her home away from home for well over 20 years. She was also a longtime member of the TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) Club and St. Luke's Pinochle Club for a few years, but mostly enjoyed playing pinochle with her sister Loretta weekly after church on Sunday. She donated blood regularly to the Erie Blood Bank, went to the GECAC center weekly, and bowled on a league until she was 86. She also enjoyed reading books, crossword puzzles, and gardening as well as listening to old Elvis records. She was also a dedicated parishioner of Sacred Heart Church for over 40 years and could be seen sitting faithfully in the same pew each Sunday.Christine was preceded in death by her eight brothers and sisters – Andrew, Henry, Anthony, Eddie, Frances and Loretta Grunzel – all of Erie; Alex Grunzel of Pittsburgh; and Ann Amendola (Grunzel) of Huntington Beach, CA; as well as her late husband Thomas Colvin.She is survived by her two sons, Thomas Colvin and his wife, Lisa, grandchildren Kayla and John, and James Colvin and his wife Angela, grandchildren Jimmy and Reece, many nieces and nephews and her beloved cats, Molly and Mr. White.Friends may call on Tuesday, March 10th at the Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc 2502 Sassafras St from 3 pm to 7 pm and are invited to the Funeral Mass on Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church at 10 am.
