Christine "Dykes" Raymond

Christine Raymond, 85, of Oak Grove, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the comfort of the place she loved. Born in Nettleton, Mississippi on March 22, 1940, she lived a life rooted in family, hard work, and quiet beauty. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Christine found joy in simple things and took great pride in caring for her husband, home, and family.

She was especially known for her beautiful garden and meticulously tended yard. Those who passed by recognized her home by the care and attention reflected in every flower, plant, and neatly kept space, a reflection of the same loving dedication she showed to the people in her life.

Christine is survived by her daughters, Debra Calhoun (Rex) and Natasha White (Douglas); her grandchildren, Rex Bryan Calhoun, Jr. (Valerie), Jennafer Hillman (Justin), Taylor Stutts (Lyndsey), Bailey Miller (Kameron), and Tristan White; and her great-grandchildren, Alexander Calhoun, Abigail Calhoun, Tanner Hillman, Kase Miller, and Dawson Miller. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Marshall, and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly. The family is grateful for the compassionate care provided by her caregiver, Tracey Hendrix.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edgar Raymond; her parents, Grady and Elma Warren Dykes; her sisters, Geneva Sloan and Iva Lee Mills; and her brother, James Dykes. Christine will be remembered for her gentle strength, her unwavering devotion to her family, and the lasting beauty she created in her garden and in the lives of those she loved.
