Christina Sue Lucas (Coy), 61, of Shelbyville, Indiana, formerly of Greenwood, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2026, at Community Hospital South.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Lucas of Shelbyville; stepchildren Jay and Amber Young of Beech Grove, Justin Lucas of Plainfield, and Jaimie Lucas of Danville; five grandchildren; her father Melvin Coy and Nancy Coy of Whiteland; her mother Judy Brown Coy Grant of New Whiteland; brother Phil Coy and his wife Sherna of the Philippines and their sons Kyle, Riley, and Tyler Coy and great-niece Grace; brother Michael Anthony Coy and niece Bella Coy of New Whiteland; and sons Christopher Bardos and his five children of Whiteland and Nathan Bardos of Greenwood. She was preceded in death by her son Steven Bardos of Greenwood.
A graduate of Franklin College, Christina earned her CPA designation and later received a master’s degree in college aid from Indiana State University. She worked at Franklin College for fifteen years before devoting herself to social work with Care Star and to the full-time care of her son Steven until his passing two years ago. She was an avid camper who served as past president of Indiana FCRV, was a charter member of Coffee Pot Camper, and held lifetime memberships in both Good Sam’s and FCRV. Christina found great joy in traveling the world and connecting with others.
A celebration of her life will be held in August on her birthday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the FCRV Club.
