March 19, 1954— March 12, 2026
Hiram, GA
Chris John Loumakis passed away at home in Hiram, Georgia, on March 12, 2026. Born on March 19, 1954, in Atlanta, Georgia, he graduated from Campbell High School in Fairburn in 1972. He served his country in the United States Air Force before beginning a long career in the printing industry in the 1970s. He remained dedicated to his work until his retirement in 2015.
In retirement, Chris found joy in traveling across the country to visit his children in California. He also took on a part-time role as a school bus driver, where he affectionately drove members of the Greek Orthodox community—whom he fondly called the GOOFS—to their lunches and activities around Atlanta. A lifelong member of the Greek Orthodox Church, he remained deeply connected to his faith and heritage throughout his life.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Loumakis, and his brothers Costa Karakos, George Karakos, Efthimios (Mike) Loumakis, Johnny Loumakis, and Nick Loumakis.
He is survived by his son, Philip Loumakis of Apple Valley, California; his daughter, Patricia Evans, and her husband, Will Evans, of Kelseyville, California; and his siblings Katherine Bulcher, Jack Loumakis, Jimmy Karakos, Zack Karakos, Terry Loumakis, Angelo Loumakis, and Barbara McGouirk. Those who knew him will remember his love for family and friends and will miss the warmth of his laughter.
