Chester Clyde Fairburn
Saskatoon, SK
Chester Clyde Fairburn passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, at the age of 90. Born on September 9, 1935, in Delisle, Saskatchewan, to Gertrude (née Richie) and Meno Fairburn, Chester spent 35 years with SaskPower. His career and life led him to live in several Saskatchewan communities, including Estevan, Regina, Melfort, and Saskatoon. He took great pride in his work and was remembered as a devoted provider and steady source of support for his family.
A devout Christian, Chester held his faith and community involvement close to his heart. While living in Melfort, he was an active member of the Melfort Kinsmen Club and was honoured with lifetime membership. In retirement, he found deep joy in time spent at Candle Lake with his wife, Beverly, and their growing family, where he created many cherished memories with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; his sister, Wendy Weir (Gary Weir); his children, Robert Fairburn (Rhonda Fairburn, née Rush) and Carolyn Boychuk (Kris Boychuk); his son-in-law, Greg Smith; his grandchildren, Lauren (Jonathan), Connor (Katelyn), Richelle (Trevor), Rhett (Michelle), Gage, and Camryn; and his great-grandchildren Kashten, Jesse, Cruz, Holly, Tessa, Dawson, Gabrielle, Camille, and Keller.
Chester was predeceased by his daughter, Sandra Smith; his sister, Ardie Worth (Harold Worth); his brother, Jim Fairburn (Gerry Fairburn); his father- and mother-in-law, Len and Elsie Funk; and his parents, Meno and Gertrude Fairburn. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him.
