Chesteene Spence

Chesteene Spence

November 18, 1925 March 4, 2026

Cincinnati, OH

Chesteene was a man of great faith, known for his unwavering spirit and nurturing nature. He accepted Christ at a young age and found a church home in Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member for over 70 years. He faithfully served as a parking attendant every Sunday until his health began to decline in later years.

Growing up in the South, Chesteene embraced his roots and carried the values of hard work and kindness throughout his life. After relocating to Cincinnati, he built a loving home and raised his family, becoming a pillar of strength and support for all who knew him. He retired after 44 years as Supervisor of the Laundry Department with Good Samaritan Hospital and never missed a day of work!

An avid gardener, Chesteene found joy in nurturing his garden, much like he nurtured those around him. He had a remarkable talent for storytelling, sharing wisdom and laughter that left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Chesteene leaves behind a legacy of love through his children, Wilford Morland (Arlene) of Kokomo, IN, Chestine Spence (Angela), and Larry Spence (Margo), both of Cincinnati, OH. He also leaves to his memory two sisters, Bernice Alexander and Gloria Wilson, a special relative, Johnnie Walker, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts. Friends and family will remember him for his infectious smile, quiet sense of humor, and his ability to make everyone feel valued and appreciated.

Chesteene Spence will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his love and spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives he touched.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 9:30 am until 10:30 am, on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3655 Harvey Avenue, Cincinnati (45229). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 10:30 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.

He will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Memorial Park & Mausoleum, 11825 Pippin Road, Colerain Township, Ohio 45231.
