Cheryl Thomas-Garner

Cheryl “Shea” Thomas-Gardner was born on December 31, 1972, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, to the late Deborah Thomas-Taylor and Paul Johnson. She passed from this life on March 7, 2026.

Shea graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1991. She found her greatest joy in quiet, everyday moments spent with her children and family, and she also cherished occasional evenings at the casino.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Cherbreal Thomas, her mother Deborah Thomas-Taylor, her brother Deric Johnson, her maternal grandparents Tommie and Bessie Thomas and Genevia Taylor, her paternal grandmother Evelyn Johnson, and her husband David Gardner.

Shea leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children Shiniqua Thomas, Anthony (Marquissa) Thomas, Andarius Thomas, and Miracle Thomas; five grandchildren, A’javian Thomas, Khilynn Thomas, Aubrey Thomas, Ashton Thomas, and Harlem Williams; two loving fathers, Paul Johnson and Gary Taylor; eleven siblings, Stephanie (Johnny) Thomas, Lakisha (Delvonte) Thomas, Marcus Terrell Johnson, Tiffany Johnson, Ingrid (Keith) Poindexter, Kawana Womack, Kala (Reginald) Jackson, and Dana Stanton; godbrothers Marion, Carey, and Darrick Simpson; and a large, loving circle of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, including her devoted cousin Darlene McIntyre and her best friends Cabrina Hawkins and Sonya McDonald.
