Cheryl J. Robinson

Cheryl Jean Robinson (77) of Freeport, IL passed away peacefully on March 4th, 2026 in Byron, IL. She was born on December 29, 1948 in Urbana, IL, the daughter of Clinton and Lola Spesard (Lookingbill). She married Lee Robinson on April 10, 1976 in Freeport, IL.

Cheryl was a graduate of Champaign Senior High School in 1967 and later went on to graduate from Eastern Illinois University in 1971. Cheryl was a beloved mom, teacher, wife, and friend. She was a member of Laurel St. Community Church for over 40 years, where she served various roles, including the Women’s Christian Service Counsel (WCSC).

She is survived by her children, Emily (Michael) Dyson of Rockford, IL, and Michael Robinson of Quincy, IL; two grandchildren, Benjamin Dyson, and Joseph Dyson, sister, Twila Lookingbill, and twin brother, Darrell (Lynetta) Lookingbill.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Lola Lookingbill; her husband, Lee Robinson, and her brother, Don Lookingbill.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Laurel St. Community Church in Freeport, IL with Pastor Johnnie Ricketts officiating. Visitation is at 11:00 a.m, with a service following at 12:00 p.m. A memorial has been established in her memory. Online condolences can be shared with the family at www.burketubbs.com.
