CHERYL HINKLEY ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory - Radford on Mar. 17, 2026.Cheryl Grubb Hinkley of Salem, formerly of Christiansburg and originally Wytheville, passed away March 14, 2026, at Lewis Gale Salem. She is finally healed of all her aches and pains. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles L. Grubb and former husband and father of her children, Henry Lee Hinkley. She is survived by her mother, Phillis Grubb, of Wytheville; sisters, Janet Grubb-Webber of Fairfax and Pamela Montgomery of Wytheville; daughters and sons-in-law, Nicole Altizer and Carlton of Radford, and Courtney "Dani" Hinkley and Brandon Havens of Christiansburg; her granddaughters, Addisyn and Emersyn Altizer, who were the loves of her life; nieces and nephews, Aaron Montgomery (Rachel), Kellyn Babbitt (Alex), Annika Webber, and Mia Hagerty (Brandon); along with several great-nieces and nephews whom she adored. She is also survived by a special lifelong "kindergarten" friend, Laura St. Clair of Roanoke, who have been best friends for over 50 years. She also had many friends and neighbors she had met through the years.Cheryl was a graduate of George Wythe High School, who then moved to Christiansburg to pursue love and a family. She was a loving mother and friend to many. She was stubborn and would not give up fighting for others and herself. She loved traveling with her girls and their families, especially cruising. She couldn't wait to book another one. She loved sitting outside whether at the beach or on her back porch. She loved spending Sundays with family, first in Wytheville at her mom's house with her sisters all playing Scrabble, which she loved, and then stopping by Radford on her way home to see her daughters, sons-in-law, and her precious granddaughters. Cheryl was a member of Unity Christian Church in Radford, where she would watch Sunday services faithfully.A service will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Unity Christian Church, 400 Tyler Avenue, Radford, VA 24141.The Hinkley Family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford. www.mullinsfuneralhome.comTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
