Cheryl Ann Robbins Devrow

Cheryl Ann Robbins Devrow

Napoleon, OH

Cheryl Ann Robbins Devrow, age 80, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away on March 13, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family after a brief illness. Born on October 26, 1945, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to the late Fred and Thelma (Baker) Robbins, Cheryl dedicated her life to serving others, particularly children and families in northwest Ohio.

A graduate of Bowling Green State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work in 1983, and Case Western Reserve University, where she received a Master of Science in Social Administration in 1988, Cheryl built a distinguished career in social services. She served as Social Services Supervisor for the Henry County Department of Job and Family Services, Child Abuse Program Supervisor at the Family and Child Abuse Prevention Center in Toledo, and from 1991 until the end of 2013 as Executive Director of the Center for Child and Family Advocacy. She also worked as a contract therapist for Maumee Valley Guidance Center, Family Services of Northwest Ohio, and Lutheran Social Services, while serving many years as Court Investigator for Henry County Probate Court and as Custody Evaluator for Henry County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court until her retirement in 2022. Cheryl was a co-founder of both the Henry County Sexual Abuse Prevention Taskforce, which evolved into the Center for Child and Family Advocacy, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Henry County. She served on the boards of the Center for Child and Family Advocacy and Pillars for Success.

Her many contributions were recognized with honors including Outstanding Alumni of Bowling Green State University in 1990, Henry County Citizen of the Year in 1995, and Symphony of Trees Champion of Children in 2022. A member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cheryl found deep fulfillment in her family. She is survived by her husband, William Devrow; her children, Desiree (Joel) Sonnenberg and Tiffany (Eric) Sherwood; her stepson, Zack Devrow; five grandchildren, Devon (Haley) Sonnenberg, Alexa Sonnenberg, Reid Sonnenberg, Charlie Sherwood, and Bradlie Sherwood; and two great-grandchildren, Tucker and Callie Sonnenberg.

Cheryl cherished her family above all and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Through her tireless advocacy, she improved the lives of countless children and families across northwest Ohio, bringing services and support to Henry County and surrounding communities that exceeded what was available elsewhere. She was a true blessing to all who knew her.
