She was born on September 18, 1944, in Howell, Michigan to Anthony Sober and Gertrude (Casterton) Sober. Cheryl married the love of her life, David "Butch" Philpott in May 1978 in Fowlerville, Michigan at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Cheryl will be remembered as a silly, spontaneous and adventurous woman who seriously loved her crab legs at Red Lobster. Whatever the activity Cheryl was game, whether it was camping or fishing, riding roller coasters at the fair, sitting around a campfire burning her marshmallows, or getting in on a great hand of euchre, rummy, or round of bingo. She would also get excited about heading out to the casino, sitting down in Gregory over a plate of frog legs, or talking about big foot. She loved a wide variety of things including: the color purple, koalas, watching scary movies, baking zucchini bread for all to enjoy, and planning trips to the horse races. Her open spirit was always leading her to find new ways to enjoy life, the most recent of which had her exploring the bedazzling world of diamond art. Cheryl will never be replaced and will be forever missed.Her Family… Cheryl will be missed by her siblings, Diane (Charles) Philpott, George Sober, Sharon Sober; children, Michael, Angie, Bruce, and Vicki; several grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Butch; and her siblings Delores, Larry, and Phillip.Her Farewell… Cheryl's family and friends will gather on Friday, March 27th from 10 – 11 am with Community Farewell Service at 11 am at Borek Jennings Funeral Homes, Fowlerville, Michigan. Pastor Jeff Duff will serve as Celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude’s.
