Cherie Gallahger ObituaryPublished by Legacy on Mar. 17, 2026.Cherie Gallagher, 77, of Mount Vernon passed away on Saturday evening, March 14, 2026 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on May 17, 1948 in Mount Vernon to the late William and Pauline (Lyons) Dennis.Cherie worked at Knox Community Hospital in the Environmental Services. She loved to watch all the grandkids at the baseball fields. All the kids knew who she was and loved her but knew better than mess with her. She also loved taking ice cream trips to dairy queen. Cherrie's favorite things were her canine companions, picking on her husband, Ralph, her grandkids and her favorite child, Clay.She was known for being bullheaded, determined, stubborn, protective and as the "Crazy Grandma".Cherie is survived by her husband, Ralph Gallagher; children, Shirley "Tutty" Gallagher, Troy (Stacy) Gallagher, Clay Gallagher, and Tammy (Bart) Severns; grandchildren, Samanatha, Chase, Derick, Brianna, Tara, Richard, Curtis, Luke, Cody, Lane, and Hunter; grandchildren, Makayla, Draven, Grayson#1, Max, Evelyn William, Oaklynn, McKinley, and Grayson #2; and a nephew, David Dennis.In addition to her parents, Cherie was preceded in death by her grandson, Dylan Aaron Severns; brothers, Gary, Jack, and John Dennis; and a sister, Judy Dennis.In following with Cherie request, there will not be any services.To share a memory or to send the family an expression of sympathy visit www.snyderfuneralhomes.comThe Snyder Funeral Homes of Mount Vernon are honored to serve the family of Cherie Gallagher.Legacy.com reports daily on death announcements in local communities nationwide.
