She was predeceased by: her parents, Leeman Shell and Lyla Becker Shell; her husband John Bess; her brother Don Shell; her daughter-in-law Gia Bess; and her siblings, Carol Ritter, Vivian Rhodesand and Ralph Shell.

She is survived by: her children, John Bess (Pattie) of Abilene, KS, Michael Bess (Nancy) of Troy, Stanley Bess (Sheila) of Lake, Edwin Bess of Crestwood, Angela Bess (Leon Brouck) of Hillsboro and Sandra Criscione (Steven) of Festus; her sister Sandra Long of Advance; her grandchildren, Krysta Brooks (Dustin), Michael Bess (Alysha), Chilsai Faherenkrog (Landry), Hailey Bess, Spencer Bess (Emily), Daniel Bess (Elise), Stephanie Bess, Nichole Hanks (Tommy), Joshua Martin (Mindy), Jacob Martin, Dave Bess (Jenny), Joe Bess, Danielle Bess (John), Heather Bess, Samantha Bess, Christian Bess, Stephen Bess and Hannah Bess; her great grandchildren, Avaigh Bashsm, Henry Fahernkrog, Brynlee Bess, Jeanny Martin, Jeremiah Bess, Ayden Moser, Amelya Moser, Lyllie OToole, Rylan Bess, Abby Bess, Nevaeh Bess, Izayah Seemayer, Elijah Seemayer, Sawyer Bess and Charlotte Bess; and her great great grandchild Corrine Moser.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Morgan Funeral Chapel (602 Vine St, Advance, MO 63730). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
