Monroe Township, NJ

Charlotte “Sharna” Vitale passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026. Born in Calgary, Canada, as the youngest of four children and the first born in the New World after her family emigrated from what is now Moldova, she was the daughter of Samuel and Rachel Brodsky. Predeceased by her sister Shirley Rabinovitch and her twin brothers Edward “Eddie” Brodsky and David Brodsky, Sharna moved to New York in 1957, where she worked as a secretary and built a loving family.

A devoted and exceptional mother, Sharna selflessly poured her time, energy, and love into raising her two children, who remained the light of her life. She later worked at Reader’s Digest in Pleasantville, New York. She is remembered with deep love by her son Stewart Loeb and his wife Pam, her daughter Janice Bloom and her husband Paul Ouimet, and her step-grandson Nick Ouimet. Sharna shared a special affection for animals, especially her beloved grand-dogs.

In 1988 she married her beloved husband Jack Vitale. Together they shared many joyful years filled with dancing, dining, and traveling the world. In 1993 they moved to The Villages, Florida, where they embraced a vibrant community life, enjoying Mahjong, lunches with friends, mornings in the pool, and dinner parties. Sharna and Jack, along with close friends, played a key role in establishing Temple Shalom of Central Florida, devoting their vision, dedication, and hard work to its creation. She remained an active member for many years, volunteering in the temple office and serving as secretary of the Sisterhood.

In 2022, Sharna moved to the Clearbrook Community in Monroe Township, New Jersey, to be closer to her children and spend more precious time with them. She will be forever remembered for her kindness, humor, strong-minded spirit, and the love she gave so generously to family, friends, and her community. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.
