Charlotte Rose ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Bosak Funeral Home - Stamford on Mar. 9, 2026.Charlotte (Kowaleski) Rose of Darien, CT. passed away peacefully, in her home at the age of 97, on March 7, 2026. Born June 7, 1928, in Stamford, CT. Charlotte was a graduate of Stamford High School. In addition to her mother, Adele Kowaleski, Charlotte was predeceased by her sister Helen Kowaleski, brothers, Stanley (Sally), Louis, and Stephen Kowaleski, and her sister, Harriett Brzoska.A driven woman determined early in life to rise from the depression era to become successful, Charlotte found enjoyment in work and was proud to leave her mark on every job completed. She advocated for the fair valuation of a woman's role in the workplace and counseled the importance of being a strong, independent woman. Self-educated in many areas of the business and financial world, with an insatiable thirst for knowledge, you could always find corporate reports at her chair side.Charlotte traveled the world, quite often as part of the League of Women Voters groups. An accomplished golfer in her medium-late years, as a Member of Silvermine Golf Club, she always enjoyed her time on the links with her "Niners Group." She had many, many life long friends who were dear to her heart, and nieces and cousins who always made time to visit with her.She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Mimi Brophy, and son-in-law Chris, and her grandchildren, Kelly (Wes Robbins), Christopher and Sean. She was cared for lovingly by her daughter, Mimi, in recent decades. Her life was enriched in the last years by Mimi's convertible cruises, ice cream stops, and short walks and talks of a long life-well lived."Gran" was immersed in the lives of her grandchildren and took great joy in sharing their life adventures and pursuits right to her final days. A loving ear, with a penchant for guiding advice, that will be engrained forever. Our family would like to thank the many compassionate members of her hospice care team. We offer deep appreciation and gratitude to her home care aides, particularly, Avril Christians and Leila Loladze for your loving care until the end.In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate your donation to Hospice Care of CT, the Darien Police Department, or any charitable organization that touches your heart.Visitation will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Monday, March 16th at Bosak Funeral Home & Cremation, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, March 17th at The United Church of Rowayton, 210 Rowayton Avenue, Norwalk, CT. Interment will be private. If you wish to make a remembrance for the family, you may sign the family guestbook at www.bosakfuneralhome.com or www.facebook.com/bosakfuneralhome.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
