Charlotte Electra Sandwall Fickett ObituaryPublished by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 10, 2026.Charlotte Fickett of Portland, Oregon, passed away at the age of 64. She was born to William A. and Glory H. Fickett at Ft. Riley Army Hospital near Kansas City, Kansas. As the daughter of a military officer, Charlotte grew up in many different places and went to elementary and junior high school in Belgium when her dad was assigned to SHAPE Headquarters in Mons, Belgium. As a youth, she was a tap dancer and a ballerina and learned to ride horses, English Saddle. She also was a Brownie and a Girl Scout.Charlotte graduated from Oregon State University and was accepted into the nursing program at Oregon Health Sciences University where she graduated with honors. She started her nursing career as an invitro fertilization nurse and eventually became a nurse practitioner. She continued her career in the Seattle area, living in Bellevue, Washington, in a condominium she was proud to have purchased. She eventually got her master's degree in nursing from Pacific Lutheran University in 1996.She eventually made her way back to Portland, where she was a successful waitress for Jake's Crawfish House and lived in an apartment above the restaurant. She loved cats and always had cats as pets since she was a little girl. She was very outgoing and friendly and made friends easily.While working at Jake's, she got an idea for a specialty cracker for clam chowder. Working with an industrial marketer, she eventually got a patent for her idea. Her project was in the licensing phase at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, David Fickett. She is survived by her older brother, Bill Fickett, sister-in-law, Hortencia, and nephews, Alex, Gus and Max, all of Vancouver, Washington, and several cousins on both sides of her family. Her family recommends memorial donations be made to Central City Concerns, 16X Burnside in Portland, Oregon. She will be interred at the Fickett Family plot at Northwood Cemetery in Vancouver, Washington.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
