Charlotte Leisler ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Eaton Funeral Home & Cremation Center - Main Chapel on Mar. 17, 2026.Charlotte Elaine Leisler, 73, of Steelville, MO, a cherished and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, in St. Louis, MO.Born on July 24, 1952 to Orville and Pearl Stout, Charlotte's life was a testament to the love and care she poured into her family and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life.Growing up in St. Louis, Charlotte attended local schools where she formed lifelong friendships and developed a strong sense of community. Her education laid the foundation for the wise and nurturing person she would become, touching the lives of all who knew her.On October 2, 1976, Charlotte married Vernon Leisler, and although they later divorced, their union was blessed with four wonderful children: Christine, Vernon Jr., Charlene, and Charles. Charlotte embraced motherhood with open arms and an open heart. She spent most of her life as a stay-at-home mom, a role she cherished and in which she excelled, providing a warm and loving home for her family.In 1997, Charlotte moved to Steelville to be closer to her brother, Vernon, a move that marked a new chapter in her life. Her home became a hub of activity and a place where memories were made, especially with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.Charlotte's interests reflected her love for life and family. She was an excellent cook, often found in the kitchen preparing meals that would bring everyone together around the table. Her crossword puzzles were a testament to her sharp mind and love for a good challenge. Charlotte was also an avid fan of soap operas, following the twists and turns of her favorite characters with great enthusiasm. Moreover, she relished the opportunity to explore Missouri through mini trips, discovering the beauty and history of her beloved state.Charlotte's warm presence and the joy she found in the simple things-like watching her grandchildren play or savoring a well-cooked meal-will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and the importance of family, which will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.Charlotte is survived by her children: Christine McPherson and significant other, Von Winfrey Jr. of St. Louis, MO, Vernon Leisler Jr. of Steelville, MO, Charlene Elkins and significant other, Michael Porter of Sullivan, MO; and Charles Leisler of Rolla, MO; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 brothers: Roy Stout of Pevely, MO, William Stout of Steelville, MO and David Stout of Festus, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.She was preceded in death by a grandson, Scotty McPherson; her parents, Orville and Pearl Stout; and siblings: Orvielle Stout, Arther Stout, Lily Stout, and Eddie Stout.A Celebration of Life will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with a Memorial service at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Free Will Baptist Church of Bourbon, MO withPastor Matthew Blackmore officiating.
