Charles William Sibley

Charles William Sibley, a veteran and devoted family man, passed away on March 12, 2026, at the age of 78. Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, Chuck, also known as Bill, attended St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy, where he developed a strong foundation of discipline and leadership. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served a tour of duty in Vietnam.

Upon returning home, he and his beloved wife, Cheryl, settled in Luna Pier, Michigan, where they raised their four children. A dedicated provider, Chuck worked for many years at Champion Spark Plug, retiring after a long and committed career. For the past 37 years, he made his home in Iowa, embracing a quieter life surrounded by his growing family.

He was a man of quiet strength and enduring loyalty. Preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl, and his eldest son, Matthew, Chuck is survived by his two daughters, Patricia and Maggie, and his son, David. He was the proud “Poppie” to seven grandchildren and “Great-Poppie” to three great-grandchildren, who will always cherish his stories and his steady presence in their lives.
