Charles Weldon Dobbins

Charles Weldon Dobbins, 98, formerly of Trinity, passed away on March 8, 2026 at Brookstone Terrace Assisted Living in Thomasville.

Born on May 17, 1927 in High Point, he was the son of the late Charles Hugh Dobbins and Mittie McDowell Dobbins. A lifelong resident of the area, he graduated from Trinity High School and worked at Adams Millis for several years before retiring from Slane Hosiery. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a longtime member of Archdale Methodist Church.

He was married to Frances Leah Croker on June 14, 1947; she passed away on April 22, 1971. On October 12, 1973, he married Zula Mae Cook, who preceded him in death on August 11, 2019. He was also predeceased by his sister, Marie D. Croker.

He is survived by his sons, Ronald D. Dobbins and his wife Kathy of Archdale, and Dwight W. Dobbins and his wife Marsha of Trinity; his brothers, Larry G. Dobbins and his wife JoCarol of Thomasville, and Herman Dobbins of Archdale; three grandchildren, Fran Hill and her husband Matt of Thomasville, Eric Dobbins and his wife Rebekah of Winston-Salem, and Emily Dobbins of Thomasville; five great-grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Corben Hill, Weldon Dobbins, Blayne Dobbins, and a great-granddaughter expected in June; his stepdaughter, Mary Lee Hartley; two step-grandsons; and two step-great-grandchildren.
