Charles Walton Bonsall Jr., of Newark, Delaware, born November 17, 1944, passed away on March 11, 2026.
Chuck was married to Grace D’Intino Bonsall, his loving and devoted wife of over 30 years. He is survived by his two children from a former marriage, David Bonsall and Brian Bonsall. He was preceded in death by his half-brother John, as well as his parents Sophie Paul and Charles Walton Bonsall Sr.
As a young man, Chuck spent many years in Hacks Point, Maryland, with his family. He served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the Navy as a Flight Deck Crash and Salvage crewman aboard the USS Coral Sea (CVA-43). He worked for more than 40 years at the DuPont Company in Philadelphia before retiring. A dedicated volunteer fireman with the Darby Firehouse, he remained a lifelong member and also belonged to the VFW Post 5428 in Collingdale, Pennsylvania.
Chuck loved history and trivia, earning the affectionate nickname “Trivia Chuck” among his friends. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and cornhole with neighbors and was always ready to lend a hand with a smile and without complaint. He was deeply loved and respected by his nieces and nephews. To his wife Grace, he was her best friend and a wonderful, loving husband who will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
