Charles Crisp ObituaryVisit the Malone Funeral Home website to view the full obituary.Charles Vernon "Charlie" Crisp, Jr., 68, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, went to be with his Lord on Monday, March 16, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by the love of his family and the faith that guided his life.Born on May 16, 1957, in Ashland, Kentucky, Charlie was the son of the late Charles V. Crisp, Sr. and Wilma Deerfield Riffe. He was also preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Laiken Salyers, and his nephew, Kevin Crisp II. Though their loss was deeply felt, Charlie carried their memories in his heart every day.Charlie dedicated many years of hard work and commitment to his career. He retired from Mining Machinery in Ashland and was a long-time employee of Whayne Supply Company, where he earned the respect and friendship of many coworkers. Known for his steady work ethic and quiet strength, Charlie took pride in providing for his family and building a life rooted in love and integrity.Outside of work, Charlie found great joy in the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, happiest when casting a line on peaceful waters. His passion for fishing led him to become a member of Major League Fishing League, Bass Fishing League, and Fishing League Worldwide. Whether competing or simply enjoying a day on the water, Charlie treasured the camaraderie, the challenge, and the serenity that fishing brought into his life.Above all, Charlie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Alyssa Short Crisp, whose partnership and devotion were the cornerstone of his life. He leaves behind his children: Charlie Joe (Charlene) Crisp of Wheelersburg, Ohio; Tanner (Britney) Edmonds of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; Sharli (Guy) Dempsey of Wheelersburg, Ohio; Chasity Salyers of Wheelersburg, Ohio; and Amanda (Jason) Mills of Catlettsburg, Kentucky.He is also survived by his sisters, Libby (Van) Stephens of Grayson and Rita (Luke) Simms of Grayson; his brother, Kevin (Cindy) Crisp of Grayson; and a large and loving family of grandchildren: Taylor (Chris), Emma (Cody), Jeremiah, Kiersten, and Rylee Dempsey; Trent and Sydney Salyers; Mia and Kaia White; Avery, Luca, and Zuri Crisp; Anderson, Eli, and Baker Mills; and Parker Edmonds. Charlie was further blessed with great-grandchildren, Kingston and Karsyn Dempsey, who brought him immeasurable pride and joy.Charlie's life was a testament to faith, family, and the simple pleasures that make life meaningful. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his love for the outdoors, his dedication to those he loved, and the countless memories created around fishing trips, family gatherings, and quiet moments shared with those closest to him.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Malone Funeral Home, with Bro. Tim Waggoner officiating. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and after 9:00 a.m. on Friday.Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Charlie Joe Crisp, Tanner Edmonds, Jason Mills, Luca Crisp, Trent Salyers, Jeremiah Dempsey, Guy Dempsey, and Cody Staggs.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
