Charles Halterman ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Grandle Funeral Home, Inc. - Broadway on Mar. 3, 2026.Charles "Jap" Taylor Halterman, 88, of Broadway passed away February 28, 2026 at his residence.He was born May 20, 1937 in Broadway to the late Charles M. and Hazel Taylor Halterman.Charles was an avid farmer; he loved not only farming but the land. He was a graduate of Broadway High School. His passions were animals and his crops. Since childhood he always strove to be the best at whatever he did, and that can be seen through his life and accomplishments. He took pride in his land and his successes. The second passion was his friends and family. He could talk for hours with friends and loved sitting in his shop reminiscing about the past and future of farming. His love for getting together with friends gave him even more inspiration to keep going. He was a member of Cedar Run Church of the Brethren.On June 24, 1956 he married the former Elaine Hughes who survives.In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kim Halterman of Broadway; a granddaughter Britney Halterman of Broadway; brothers, Doughlas A. Halterman (Pat) of Broadway, Ronald L. Halterman (Frances) of Broadway, Marvin L. Halterman (Michelle) of Broadway, numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carole Halterman.Pastor Ken Fox and Matthew Fulk will conduct a memorial service 2:00 PM Saturday March 28,2026 at Cedar Run Church of the Brethren. The family will receive friends from 1-2PM, prior to the memorial service.Memorial contributions may be sent to the Cedar Run Cemetery fund, 6979 Cedar Run Trail.
