Charles Stephen Cziczo

1943 — 2026

McHenry, IL

Charles Stephen Cziczo, known affectionately as Chuck, passed away unexpectedly on March 10, 2026, in McHenry, Illinois, at the age of 83. Born on February 16, 1943, in Blue Island, Illinois, he married the love of his life, Rina Scudella, on December 26, 1964, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Chicago. Together they shared 61 devoted years, raising a family and building a life grounded in love and commitment.

A proud Air Force veteran, Chuck served his country from 1962 to 1966. His spirit of service continued long after his military days. For ten years he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in North Carolina, helping to build homes and leaving a lasting mark of compassion and hard work. In McHenry, he was a devoted parishioner of the Church of the Holy Apostles for six years, generously giving his time to charitable efforts, including driving seniors to appointments and delivering Meals on Wheels. He found simple joys in golfing and woodworking, and his quiet kindness touched many lives.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Rina Cziczo; his children, Daniel Cziczo (Kristin Carnes), Stephanie Cziczo (Ciaran Moloney), and Bernadette (Joseph) Collins; his grandson, Nicholas Collins; his brother, Raymond (Barbara) Cziczo; his sister, Rita Prokop; his sister-in-law, Carla Scudella; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Therese Cziczo; his parents, Charles F. and Mary T. (Bodnar) Cziczo; his parents-in-law, Giovanni B. and Maria Scudella; his sister, Mary (Rudy) Schuzer; and his brother-in-law, John B. Scudella.
