He enjoyed fishing, sitting and relaxing at the river, spending time with family and friends, watching movies, thrift store shopping and collecting antiques.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Maxwell; an infant daughter, Sheila; daughter, Amanda; a granddaughter; and a sister, Vera Slater.He is survived by two sons, Charles "Chuck" Santee, Jr. and Chris Abling; daughter, Charlotte Abling; sister, Ida (Donald) Decker; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Friends and family will be received Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 1 PM until the time of service at 3 PM at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling (304-242-2311).Memorial contributions may be made to The Soup Kitchen of Greater Wheeling, 1610 Eoff St., P.O.
