Charles Robert Gifford, age 70, of Sweetwater, passed away on March 7, 2026, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
He spent two decades working at CVG and found great joy in the companionship of his two dogs, Brady and Travis. Charles was a devoted family man who cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick Henry and Blanche Gifford; his wife, Joyce Worthy Gifford; and his brother, David Gifford.
Charles is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Angela and Ronnie Graham of Madisonville, Betty Jo Cogdill of Sweetwater, and Kimberly and Tyler Rose of Sweetwater; his son, Jamey Cogdill of Sweetwater; grandchildren Kayla, Kaitlyn, Hannah Watson, and Sharon Rose; great-grandchildren Derek and Zyren Steffa and Aliyah and Case Belk; several nieces and nephews; and close friends John and Cordell.
