Charles “Chuck” Oliver Kurtz, 81, of Washington, UT. Born November 27, 1944, to loving parents Oliver Emanuel Kurtz and Amanda Hughes Kurtz.
Chuck graduated from Rancho High School in 1962. He attended Dixie college following high school from 1962 -1963 and finished out his education at Stephens-Hennigar’s College in Salt Lake City from 1963 -1964.
He honorably served in the United States Army from 1964-1967 reaching the rank of Specialist.
He married Kathy Andrus of St. George, Utah in June of 1969 and they were later divorced in 2005. During this marriage they were blessed with Michelle Leigh Kurtz.
He married Karen Jean Zebro on January 28, 2006, and their marriage was later solemnized on August 2, 2025, in the Red Cliff’s Temple in St. George, UT.
During his lifetime he worked in various positions working for HSBC for 35 Years in the banking industry, he then worked delivering Meals on Wheels in Washington County, Utah for 20 Years.
His life was enriched by his family, and he loved supporting his grandchildren in all of their sporting activities never missing a sporting event. He loved sports of all kinds, but he especially enjoyed football, basketball, baseball and golf. He loved caring for his horses and participating in team roping events.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Oliver Emanuel Kurtz and Amanda Hughes Kurtz and his sister Marie (Albert) Gould).
He is survived by his beloved wife Karen Jean Zebro, children; Kevin Kurtz, Michelle Kurtz, William (Rebecca) Chappell and Joshua (Jamie) Chappell, grandchildren; Tucker Chappell, Holden Chappell, Remme Chappell, Bridger Chappell, Brooks Chappell and Haisley Chappell, siblings Barbara (Larry) Rathje, DelRae (Tom) Dillard, and Jospeh Zebro and many beloved nieces and nephews.
