Charles Bryant ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Sullivan-King Mortuary & Crematory - Anderson on Mar. 17, 2026.Anderson – Charles Olin Bryant, born July 27, 1941, 84 years old, beloved husband of 63 years to Lanita Gail Todd Bryant, entered into his heavenly home on March 17, 2026, while at his home, surrounded by loving family and friends.Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Ervin and Alice Weldon Bryant, and was an honor graduate from Boys High School (1959). Mr. Bryant was retired from Y.C. Ballenger, Pike Construction, and other electric company positions, along with service to many upstate South Carolina churches as minister of music. After retirement as a music minister for 40 plus years, Mr. Bryant was a faithful member of Boulevard Baptist Church where he enjoyed his "Open Door" Sunday School class immensely. Charles, also known as "Charlie" had a fantastic zeal for life, family, work, and especially his music ministry. He was a devout husband, an incredible father, and a wonderful grandfather. He will forever be remembered for his extraordinary energy and sense of humor, up until the last breath.Mr. Bryant had so many nieces and nephews who were constantly checking in on him and his beloved wife throughout their life journeys and have made their lives more beautiful and joyful. A special thank you to all who helped care for Charlie near the end of his earthly life.In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Wesley Dewitt Bryant (Lisa); a daughter, Lucretia Bryant Collins; four grandchildren, Philip Conrad Bryant (Elizabeth), Megan Bryant Collins, Mitchell Todd Bryant, and Sydney Marie Collins. He had one great-grandson, Richard Fischer Bryant. He is survived by one brother, Larry Bryant (Janie).In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bryant; sisters, Frances Smith, Cody Seagraves, Joyce Smith, and Carolyn Mayfield; and a son, Philip Charles Bryant.The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 20, at Boulevard Baptist Church, 700 Boulevard, Anderson SC 29621. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 20, at Boulevard Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Austin Carty and Dr. Jack Couch. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers: memorials may be made to the Open Door Sunday School class at Boulevard Baptist Church, 700 Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621 or Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
