Charles N. Williams

Charles N. Williams, age 91 of Deptford Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2026. Born at home in Pitman to the late Herschel Williams and Sarah J. (née Myers), he graduated from Pitman High School with the Class of 1952. He married Emma Jane Fowler on September 17, 1955, and together they raised their daughter while making their home in Deptford Township since 1958. Charles retired in 2001 after a long career as a pipefitter with E.I. DuPont de Nemours in Deepwater.

Known affectionately as Pop to everyone, Charles was always ready to lend a hand to family and friends. He was a skilled craftsman who took pride in home repairs and projects of all kinds. An avid NASCAR fan, he also cherished family outings to the Jersey shore with his wife and loved ones. Above all, he treasured his family and found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda J. Johnson and her husband Gary; grandchildren Mark Johnson and his wife Allyn, and Staci McGrenaghan and her husband Keith; great-grandchildren Brandon, Addisen, Tyler, Kayla, Sadie, and Tanner; his sister-in-law Helen Fowler; and many loving nieces and nephews, who knew him as Uncle Norm. Charles was also survived by his dear friend Anne Childress. He was predeceased by his siblings Bertha (Betty), Herschel (Bud), and Doris.
