He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Taylor Walton and Mary Allie Walton (Geeslin); his wife Velma Walton; and his stepdaughter Linda Henderson. He is survived by: his sister Harriette Walton; his stepson Alvin Minnix (Patricia); his son Chip Walton (Susan); his grandchildren, Lisa Blackwell (Samuel), Greg Henderson (Trisha Scott), Jeanette Minnix (Rob), Tyson Henderson (Sara), Brad Minnix, Charrissa Van Valkenburg (James) and Matt Walton; his great grandchildren, Lasha Henderson, Dustin Henderson (Jennifer), Landon Blackwell (Cathy), Bethany Jones Clontz (Jacob), Ashley Webb (Carter), Tyler Minnix, Charlie Minnix, Noble Langston, Logan Henderson, Lexus Henderson, Lane Langston, Valya Van Valkenburg, Violet Van Valkenburg, Vaeda Van Valkenburg, Lauren Henderson, Aubree Henderson and Vincent Van Valkenburg; and his great great grandchildren, Kailey Gerber (Dylan), Dalton Ramey (Lauren), Haidyn Henderson, Grayson Henderson, Layla Blackwell, Ella Grace Henderson, Madelyn Blackwell, Everleigh Blackwell, Grady Henderson, Sullivan Webb, Huxton Gerber and Averie Henderson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and devoted friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Crossroads United Methodist Church (2460 GA-138, Conyers, GA 30013).
