Charles Dodd ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory on Mar. 9, 2026.Charles Marion Dodd, age 85 of Pheasant Mountain Road, Toccoa passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026, at The Clary Center in Toccoa.A son of the late Charles Emory Dodd and Clyde Mason Dodd, he was born April 16, 1940 in Banks County, Georgia. Marion lived most of his life in Toccoa, Georgia where he owned and operated Mullinix Grocery and Service Station for 40 years. During this time, Marion was able to serve the community that he loved and built lifelong friendships and fond memories which were carried on to his subsequent work for 20 more years with the Stephens County Road Department. Marion was well known in Toccoa and beyond for his kindness, his sharp sense of humor, and for his ability to fix or build just about anything a person could ever want or need. He was a Veteran, having served in the National Guard for six years, and he was of the Baptist faith. One of his favorite activities over the years was working on and restoring antique cars and trucks. In addition to being a skilled mechanic, Marion was also well known for his beautiful woodworking. He created furniture and decorative items that his family and friends will treasure forever. Most of all, Marion was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John Adams.He is survived by his loving wife, Suzann Edmonds Dodd; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Greg Dodd of Athens, Georgia; step-granddaughter, Robyn Dodd; step-daughter, Bridgett (Mark) McCoy of Mount Airy; step-grandchildren, William and Katie McCoy; sister, Doris Dodd Adams of Toccoa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Martha Dodd of Lavonia and Larry and Jenora Dodd of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews and close family friends, Donnie and Sally Moore of Toccoa.Graveside services Wednesday, March 11, 2026, 2 p.m.at Stephens Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The following beloved family members and friends will serve as pallbearers, Greg Dodd, Mark McCoy, William McCoy, Katie McCoy, Donnie Moore, and James Meyerholtz, Jr.The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Charles Marion Dodd.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
