Charles "Jim" Linkous

Charles “Jim” Newman Linkous, age 81, of York, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026 at Spring Oaks of York.

Born on May 20, 1944 in Wilmington, Delaware, Jim grew up in Princeton, West Virginia, the son of the late Charles Franklin Linkous and Geraldine Jamison Linkous. He lived a life rooted in quiet faithfulness and steady presence, remaining an active and devoted member of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in York. He also found enjoyment and camaraderie as a member of the York Crust Breakers.

Jim is survived by his wife, Diane Black Linkous; his son, Charles “Tom” Newman Linkous II and wife Tracy of Roanoke, Virginia; his daughter, Tamara Shea Linkous of Princeton, West Virginia; his grandsons, Thomas Linkous and Tyler Linkous, both of Roanoke; and his brother, Ronnie Linkous and wife Linda of Princeton, West Virginia. A private burial will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery.
