He was predeceased by: his parents, Melton David and Leola Mae West Johnson; his wife Lillie Mae; and his sister Mae Ellen Raynor. He is survived by: his children, Anita Gail Johnson Millen (Darwin) of Clinton and David Leon Johnson (Sherry) of Benson; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Boyette (Howard), Austin Johnson, Samantha White Millen, Jessica Bashlor (Walter), Jennifer Burnside (Johnny), Matthew Millen (Ashton) and Sarah Millen. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Royal Hall Funeral Home Chapel (301 McKoy St, Clinton, NC 28328). The military honors will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Grandview Memorial Park (2809 US-421, Clinton, NC 28328).
