Arrangements are under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home.Charles was born in Lexington, Mississippi, on December 14, 1944, the son of Robert and Edrey Evers. The family later moved to Greenville, where Charles attended Greenville High School.He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Katie Lou Evers. Charles worked as a machinist at Mosley Manufacturing and served as a deacon at Southside Baptist Church.He is survived by his son, Lee Evers, and Christen Caplinger of New Orleans, Louisiana; granddaughter Harper Anne Evers of New York City; and sister Bobbye Ann Oltermari and Davis Oltremari of Ridgeland, Mississippi.Memorials in may be made to Southside Baptist Church.
