He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Chester Reed and Edna Myrtle Coker Reed; and his sister Sandra Byrge. He is survived by: his wife Myrna Johnson Reed; his children, Scott Reed (Cindy) and Debbie Pruitt (Michael); his grandchildren, Lindsay Bradford, Kasey Pruitt, Samantha Hull (Stephen), Ashlee Fugate (Brent) and Patrick Bradford (Carrie); his great grandchildren, Avery Cross, Silas Fugate, Beau Bradford, Riley Jo Bradford, Brynlee Pruitt and Peyton Hull; his sisters, Mary Lou Reed Holliman and Jetti Lloyd (Marshall); and his brother-in-law Paul Byrge. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Higgins Funeral Home (213 Market St E, Fayetteville, TN 37334). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at the Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens (23 Memory Ln, Fayetteville, TN 37334).
